Donating with Strings Attached
What do violins and food have in common? A lot if you're Katie Loomis-Adams. This 6 year old can be found playing her violin for donations to the State College Food Bank - and that's music to our clients' ears. If you see Katie, please "pitch" in.

Lemonade Aid
When the economy gives you lemons, what do you do? You make lemonade, sell it at a lemonade stand, and donate the money to the food bank. That is what Emelia Brannon decided to do. Emelia’s efforts brought in $141.00 and donated food items as well. Emelia stated that she did not want people to go hungry.

Day of Caring
This year's Day of Caring was a "moving" experience. Volunteers helped to move the Food Bank's freezers, including all their contents. In addition, the rugs got a good cleaning and bags of food were pre-packaged for client distribution. Thanks to all who helped. |

GREAT NEWS!! We are now able to accept financial donations on-line through Click and Pledge. Just click on the image below, and enter your credit card information - it's that easy!!

Thanks to everyone's generous support, both financially and with food items, we are meeting the increased demands coming from the current economic conditions. On behalf of our clients, we cannot thank you enough!! Our thanks to everyone for your support. Your ongoing support and donations are the mainstay of our program.
However, our need is ongoing and escalating due to high energy prices, housing costs, and health care expenses. Please check our Needs List for the most current list of items and keep those donations coming!!
Special

Did You Know?
- Our volunteers logged a total of 5,687 hours in 2008!!!
- In 2008, we distributed over to 12,000 bags of groceries to over 2,100 people in over 770 households. 37% were children under the age of 18 years and 7% were age 60 or more. See our 2008 Fact Sheet for more details.
- It is estimated that 60% to 80% of low income households have no books for their children to read. We keep a basket of gently used and new children's books for our clients.
- We receive substantial food donations from departing Penn State students through the Trash to Treasure program and individual donations. We are grateful for all of the many ways Penn State students and other local groups contribute to our Food Bank.
Thank You!
- Thank you for your continued support!
