Our needs fluctuate from week to week and we can always use YOUR help. Food donations can be brought directly to the Food Bank or put in specially marked drop boxes at local churches and other organizations in our community. Donations are accepted at our new location on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between the hours of 9:30 - 11:30 a.m or during our regular service hours - preferably between 2 and 4:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday or Friday, or 10 - 12 on Saturday. If this is not possible, please call Ernest Boyd at 814/280-3442. Large donations are by appointment only as they may require delivery to our alternate storage facility. Please check out our Needs List page to see our current needs. Photo: Volunteer Theresa Knoppes kneels before the trade-in shelf. Theresa organized the shelf during the late shift (Monday 4-6 pm).
We receive financial support from:
We use our cash donations for operating expenses such as office supplies
and phone service so our clients and volunteers can maintain contact with
us. We also purchase fresh milk, eggs, and meat to include with our nonperishable
orders. In addition, we use some of our monetary donations for our purchases
from Second Harvest. We get enormous value for these dollars, as Second
Harvest enables us to pay pennies for items such as cereal, salad dressings,
and even some frozen meats. The Food Bank has been fortunate to receive gift cards and gift certificates,
too, which have been valuable in enabling us to purchase essential foods
that might be low in supply on our shelves. Such gifts ensure that we
never run out of needed items! Did
you know...that
you can designate part or all of your United Way contribution to the
State College Area Food Bank? The Food Bank recently established a fund with the Centre County Community
Foundation. Please consider supporting us well into the future by contributing
to this fund! To learn more about the opportunities available through
CCCF, please consult their Web site at http://www.centrecountycf.org/ |
