Services

Photo of fresh food refridgeratorClients may come to the State College Food Bank up to six times in a twelve month period for emergency food. After six times, the client must be working with a case manager in another organization in order to continue to receive food help.

Clients receive a large supply of groceries, sufficient for about a week. The size of the food order corresponds to the number of people in the household. In addition to non-perishable foods, every grocery order includes fresh milk, eggs, bread and frozen meat. People may exchange food items in their order for other items that they prefer.

Did you know... that approximately 40% of those we serve are children under the age of 18?

Linda Tataliba, Executive Director

Hello, I'm Linda Tataliba, the new Executive Director as of July 2006. I am a Penn State graduate with a degree in Home Economics Education and am excited to be back in State College.

I have over 15 years experience with non-profit organizations which assisted needy families with their basic needs of food, shelter, and employment. In addition, I am an instructor in Safe Food Handling and Sanitation, and have spent 8 years as a dietary manager for a large, long-term care nursing facility in Somerset, PA.

I am a native of Somerset County with three grown children.

I am thrilled, and proud, to be part of such a valuable and necessary organization helping people in the Centre Region - and amazed at the level of volunteerism enabling us to provide family benefits at such a high level of service.
