Welcome to our home on the Web!

The Holidays bring out the best in people - our thanks to everyone who has helped to make the holidays a bit brighter for so many families in our region.

Christmas Elves

Thanks to Centre Community Church of Christ, our clients received home-made stockings full of goodies. They have been making this special contribution for 28 years ! That's a lot of stockings! R. Scott and Teresa Lenhart are the delivery elves!

State High Basketball players worked as a great team to set up the Toys for Tots Alternate Distribution site. Everything went smoothly and the process was a slam dunk!

Birds of a feather....

Abdul Althovaini, Drew Boyles, Paul Hochreiter and Abby Johnson, all in appropriate holiday gear, helped distribute turkeys to Food Bank clients for Thanksgiving.

For Emma's surprise birthday party - they made birthday bags for Food Bank clients. She is pictured here with her brother when they delivered them. What a great way to share the birthday spirit!

Thanks to everyone's generous support, both financially and with food items, we are meeting the increased demands coming from the current economic conditions. On behalf of our clients, we cannot thank you enough!! Our thanks to everyone for your support. Your ongoing support and donations are the mainstay of our program.

However, our need is ongoing and escalating due to high energy prices, housing costs, and health care expenses, plus the state food purchase program is currently on hold. Please check our Needs List for the most current list of items and keep those donations coming!!

Did You Know?

  • Our volunteers logged over 8,900 hours in 2011!!!
  • In 2011, we distributed almost 18,000 bags of groceries to over 3,340 people in almost 880 households. 37% were children under the age of 18 years and 11% were age 60 or more. See our 2011 Fact Sheet for more details.
  • It is estimated that 60% to 80% of low income households have no books for their children to read. We keep a basket of gently used and new children's books for our clients.
  • We receive substantial food donations from various community drives such as the Trash to Treasure program, Letter Carrier, and Boy Scout Souting for Food, in addition to individual donations. We are grateful for all of the many ways Penn State students and other local groups contribute to our Food Bank.

Thank You!

  • Thank you for your continued support!
